we are pleased to inform you that the 48th Annual Scientific Meeting of ISCOS (International Spinal Cord Society) will be held in Florence from October, 21st to October, 24th, 2009.
The organization of the event is entrusted to Prof. Sergio Aito, chief of the Spinal Unit Department of the Careggi University Hospital of Florence. The site of meeting will be the International Conference Center of Florence (Palazzo dei Congressi), a meeting center provided with the most recent technological facilities and a 1,000 places Auditorium Room.
The topics will be related to Spinal lesions issues such as: predicting outcomes of Spinal lesions; new developments in the treatment of skin pressure ulcers; spinal cord lesions in children; urinary incontinence and spasticity management. Free scientific papers on other issues related to Spinal lesions will also be presented. Symposia and Workshops will be held with the aim of deepening the knowledge of the comprehensive management of poly-traumatized patients. The topics treated during the Symposia and Workshops will be: the treatment of vertebral fractures, the treatment of critical patients, the treatment of deficiency of ventilation, the treatment of neurogenic bladder and intestine, the rehabilitation of individuals with CNS disorders, pain, spasticity, mobility and the integration of disabled people into the social context will enrich the scientific contents.
We predict that between 700 and 1000 delegates will attend the meeting. Prof. Sergio Aito - the chairman - and the International Spinal Cord Society will appreciate your participation to the organization of such event of high scientific value.
