Call for AbstractsAuthors are invited to submit the abstracts of work that they intend to present at the 48th ISCoS Annual Scientific Meeting. Topics of discussion can be found in the Scientific Programme section. Authors will have the opportunity to present their abstracts by means of an oral exposition, or either a poster presentation or both. The abstract submitted should comply with the guidelines below. Closing date for receipt of abstracts:
Notifications of admission/rejection of abstracts will be submitted by June 30th, 2009. In case the reply is not received by the date stated above, authors should contact the scientific secretary immediately (by e-mail or phone). Instructions for Authors In order a paper to be considered for presentation, one of its authors at least should be an ordinary member or associate member of ISCoS (ISCoS Constitution, par. 21.b). Normally, each single author or joint author cannot deliver more than one platform presentation. Exceptionally, however, some authors will have the opportunity to deliver more than one platform presentation, with priority given to those that will likely attend a lower number of meetings per year. In any case, authors will have the opportunity to deliver more than one poster presentation. Authors are invited to fill the abstract form in English in order to avoid misunderstandings in the spelling of names, addresses, titles of abstract, medical terminology, etc. The title of the abstract should be as much concise as possible and it should state as much clearly as possible the nature of the study. The title should be entirely reported in capital letters. While the name of the presenting author should be underlined, the other names should not. Names should not include titles or degrees. The name and location of the institution where the work was carried out should be reported. Authors may want to follow the sample below:
While typing the text, authors should adhere to the framed outline of the abstract form. Abstracts should be typed in a reasonable size (indicatively 12 points). The abstract should contain the following parts in the same order as below: a. A paragraph stating the purpose of the study. Statements in letter d. should not contain generalizations and must contain precise results. Tables or graphs will be accepted only if drawn in black ink and if fitting the format. Non-proprietary (generic) names should be written in small letters. Proprietary names may be added in brackets.
The abstracts will be printed exactly as received. Abstracts that do not follow the instructions below will not be considered for presentation. - Abstracts will not be approved unless accompanied by the presenting author's Registration Form. - Abstracts will not be considered if previously published or presented at an international scientific meeting - Abstracts will not be considered if they do not provide data. Abstracts containing generalizations in the concluding statements will be deemed unacceptable. |
